Alan Barrell is an experienced technology industry leader with over 30 years in senior executive roles. Currently Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Cambridge, he also holds visiting and honorary positions at universities in China, Finland, Canada, and Japan. A respected figure in innovation and enterprise, he chairs the East of England NHS Innovations Council and Health Enterprise East, and sits on the boards of five early-stage life science companies. As a member of Cambridge Angels and Sophia Business Angels, Alan is deeply involved in supporting emerging ventures globally. His contributions to enterprise and education have been recognised with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (2006) and Finland’s Order of the White Rose (2011).
